Supervisor training is legally required by the Occupational Health & Safety Regulations of Northwest Territories and Nunavut. Employers are obligated to ensure supervisors understand their role and responsibilities to workplace health and safety and to provide supervisors with adequate training.
This two-day training course has been developed to familiarize participants with Safety Acts and Occupational Health and Safety Regulations of the Northwest Territories and Nunavut as well as industry best practices. Participants will gain significant knowledge regarding safety management systems and their roles and responsibilities in the workplace. This course has been approved by the WSCC Chief Safety Officer.
This training will be instructor-led LIVE ONLINE. Participants require a stable internet connection, webcam and microphone to participate in the course, including live discussions.

After successful completion of the two-day course, participants are recommended to complete, with their employers’ assistance, the following on-the-job practical assignments:
Upon assignment completion, participants’ employers sign their workers’ competency letters (provided with their letters of completion) and place them on file. Safety Officers audit documentation as part of regular onsite inspections.
