Lockout Tagout (LOTO) protects a worker by preventing others from turning on equipment or from a release of energy while working on or servicing equipment and machinery. This course will introduce participants to Lockout Tagout requirement, procedures for affixing appropriate lockout devices or tag out devices to energy isolating devices, and to otherwise disable machines or equipment to prevent unexpected re-energizing, start up or release of stored energy in order to prevent injury to workers.
All workers involved in preventing machine, equipment or process-related injury due to unintended motion, including: Health & Safety representatives JHSC members Maintenance staff Supervisors Others responsible for health and safety in the workplace.

This is a half-day instructor-led theory based course provides an overview of basic lockout/tagout concepts. Content includes: identification of hazardous energies that require control, review of a generic lockout procedure as well as how and when alternative / other control methods could be used to control hazardous energy. Participants will receive a certificate of attendance.
