What You'll Learn

The main purpose of this course is keep you safe working with electricity! This course will introduce Non-Electrical Workers to general electrical safety rules, principles and safe practices. The course is an awareness level course with respect to energized equipment and the electrical hazards of shock and arc flash. It will raise awareness of the legal responsibilities under Health and Safety at Act.

Who Should Attend

Technicians, machine operators, supervisors, field engineers, plant engineers and others who work around electrical systems.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this course the trainee should be able to:

  • Provide awareness with respect to the electrical hazards and risk associated with energized equipment including electric shock and arc flash.
  • Understand legislative responsibilities.
  • Introduce the participants to the regulatory requirements and applicable standards.
  • Utilize awareness, education, and knowledge to ensure workers understand the safe working practices related to working with electricity.
  • Identify that there are Electrical Specific PPE, Tools & Equipment for electrical workers.
